Policy
Late Policy: If you are more then 15 minutes late for your tour you will be surrendoring your trip. It is not fair to the other guests who arrive on time to have to miss out on part of the tour for late guests. If you know you are going to be late please call us in advance and we will do our best to accomodate for you or can move your tour to another date or time. Morning tours meet at 10AM promptly, afternoon tours meet at 2pm, evening tours meet at 5pm. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your tour. Thank You.
Time Zone: We run on Mountin Standard Time. This is the same time as Calgary, Canmore, Banff, and Lake Louise NOT the same time as Revelstoke and the majority of British Columbia. We are located in the same time zone as Alberta as we are so close to the boarder. Please plan ahead and make appropriate adjustments for the time zone you are coming from.
Covid-19 & Updates:
Shuttle: For most of our snowmobile tours we will still be offering a free shuttle service from Canmore, Banff, Lake Louise, and Field/ Emerald Lake to Kicking Horse Resort in Golden, B.C. where our tours start. Of course adapting to new covid-19 standards, masks will be mandatory for the entire time in the vehicle. We do recommend that you drive in your own vehicle, but are happy to accomodate for those who can not.
Arrivals & Checking-In: Once in the parking lot masks are mandatory. This is also the policy for the Kicking Horse Mountain Resort; seeing as we are so close in proximity, all businesses surrounding the resort base have agreed to implement this rule. For our check-in and gearing up process we will only have 1 or 2 groups at a time signing in and gearing up. Upon arrival we require you to fill out and sign our Covid-19 consent form. Once on the sleds, snowmobiling is the perfect social distancing activity!
Gear Rentals: We strongly encourage everyone to bring as much of their own gear as possible while we are battling these new limitations. We will, however, have gear available for rentals if you do not have your own equiptment. We have implemented a new sanitization process to keep everyone at Rocky Mountain Riders as safe as possible, as well as regular sanitization on all touch points. Helmets can/ will be provided to all guests, along with balaclavas (must be worn while wearing your helmet). Rental Prices will be as followed:
$25 Snowsuit Rental $10 Goggle Rental $10 Balaclava Rental $10 Boot Rental $10 Golve Rental $65 Glove Purchase
*Hand Sanitizer will be available in the office as well as disposable masks if you forgot your own.*
Cancellation Policy: 2 weeks or prior - no charge. Within 2 weeks - 50% charge. Within 48 hours - 100% charge.
Please note we do have a cancellation policy for all snowmobile tours and rentals. If you must cancel your tour or rental with us, we require a minimum two weeks notice. Cancellation within those two weeks we charge 50% of the tour/ rental cost. Cancellations within 48 hours of your tour/ rental are charged the full 100%. We understand that there may be unforeseen circumstances preventing a guest from coming, if we are able to re-book your spots prior to your trip, and/ or move you to another day we will do our best to accomodate your alternative dates. We will still be required to charge as per your original tour date if you move your booking within the cancellation period. Please CALL AND EMAIL US if you need to cancell your tour.
Damage Deposit & Insurance Policy: Due to the nature of snowmobiling we require damage deposits or insurance to be taken by guests prior to the departure. Guests must bring a valid credit card to their tour. Deposits/ Insurance are as follows:
Full & Half Day Kicking Horse Tours + Trail Tours
We require an imprint of your credit card upon arrival for the tour or a $1,200 cash deposit. We offer collision insurance for $25 per sled, which will cover you for any damages up to $300 (you are liable for the full cost of repairs/ replacements of machine without insurance.)
Intermediate & Extreme Back Country Tours + Rentals
We require a damage deposit of $5,000 +tax per sled (or $3500 if you purchase insurance *tour only*) upon arrival. Please physically bring your credit card with you in order to process this pre-authorization prior to your departure.
